Detective Sergeant Mark Bolender
The Detective Unit’s primary role is conducting criminal
investigations such as deaths, robberies, burglaries, sexual
assaults, thefts, arsons and white-collar crimes. In 2025, the
Detectives worked on 197 cases. Detectives are assigned
cases that are too lengthy and complex for patrol officers to
handle. Depending on the complexity of the case, detectives
can work on cases for months, even years, often traveling
outside the jurisdiction in search of suspects and witnesses.
