CAMERAS
CBRPD deploys 29 body-worn cameras (BWC) and 17 in-car video systems. These are
essential tools for law enforcement offering the following benefits: increased transparency and
accountability, decreased complaints against officers, improved community-police relations,
enhanced situational awareness, training opportunities, reduced liability, and evidence integrity.

Activation
The in-car video systems are automatically activated to record
when the vehicle’s lights or sirens are activated.

The camera systems have the capability of redacting by-standers
inadvertently captured on video.

2015. The first BWCs
were WatchGuard just as
they were being
introduced to law
enforcement. The
department now deploys
LensLock cameras.
Using 4th generation
cameras includes the
latest technology for realtime, high-definition video
with long battery life.
We have two License Plate Readers (LPRs) mounted on police vehicles. These are
high speed, camera-based systems that automatically scan and capture thousands of
